Chapter 01 · Neuroscience · 4 lessons

Neurons & Spikes

A neuron is a small electrical instrument, and everything it does runs on math you already own. A weighted average sets its resting voltage, an integral decides when it fires, a threshold makes each spike all-or-none, and a dot product lets neurons talk to each other. Four short lessons, one running theme: the brain computes with the calculus and linear algebra from the other chapters.

Start lesson 1
01 The resting neuron ~6 min 02 The neuron integrates ~6 min 03 All or nothing ~6 min 04 Neurons talk: summation ~6 min LAB The mystery neuron ~8 min

Finish all four, then keep the underlying math sharp in Practice.
